Collaborative Camp

Collaborative Camp is a seven week (state licensed) summer camp open to youth entering kindergarten – 8th grade. Daily activities may include trips to area lakes, fishing, arts and crafts, growing and harvesting vegetables in our Community Garden, cooking, science and games. Each camp week  has a theme based around a famous book or author:

• July 2nd -July 6th: Dr. Seuss: Come and explore the world of  Dr. Seuss
• July 9th – July 13th: Roald Dahl: Don’t forget your golden ticket to the Chocolate Factory
• July 16th – 20th: Harry Potter: Become a wizard
• July 23rd – 27th: Swiss Family Robinson: Get shipwrecked on a deserted island
• July 23rd -July 27th: Math Camp: Have fun with numbers! Play games and solve problems; open to students in 5th – 8th grades
• July 30th – August 3rd: The Olympics: Join a team for The Collaborative Olympics
• August 6th -  August 10th: Little House on the Prairie: Explore life on the frontier
• August 6th -10th: Young Writers Camp: Have fun exploring narratives, poetry, and memoirs; open to students in 5th – 8th grades
• August 13th – 17th: Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys: Come solve an exciting camp mystery

Special Highlights:

• Swin Lessons: July 16th – July 27th. Camp participants can sign up for swim lessons taught by a certified Red Cross instructor.
• Field Trips: Campers will go to local ponds and parks to swim each afternoon. Field trips may be offered to area attractions specific to that week’s theme.
• Hikes: Each week campers will have an opportunity to explore the areas mountains and hiking trails.
• Snacks and lunch: The Collaborative provides a healthy morning and afternoon snack. Campers must bring their own lunch.

Fees: Participants can attend camp for the week, half day or just for a day; the respective camp fees are: $175, $20, $40. Early drop (7:30am) off and late pick up (5:30pm) hours may be arranged for an extra charge of $5 per extended hour.

Youth Engaged Learning Leadership is specially designed for 7th and 8th graders. Y.E.L.L. participants help with the campers, program duties, community service projects while gaining leadership skills and enjoying the Collaborative Camp activities. Participants help design their program by choosing special projects. Y.E.L.L. participants enjoy all the camp activities and more! YELL is $50/week.
