Extended Day Program

The Collaborative runs a licensed after school program at Flood Brook Union School. Now in its 12th year, the program runs after school and is open to students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

The Extended Day Program offers a variety of events, programs and daily activities.  Occasionally The Collaborative will run special camps when school is not in session. Please check the calendar for these events.

Youth attending EDP are greeted after school in the Multi Purpose Room by trained staff.  A typical day includes homework, a programmed activity, healthy snack and free play.

Snacks may include produce from The Collaborative’s community garden during the growing season and harvest time.

Youth attending EDP participate in a broad range of daily activities. Children explore creative and scientific areas through a variety of art projects and science experiments. Youth engage in group games and outside play.

Examples of some of the activities for EDP participants include:

*Art Projects: Seasonal Decorations, Water Coloring

*Science Experiments: Mentos Volcanoes, Solar Ovens

*Group Games: Obstacle Courses, Board Game Tournaments

*Outside Play: Trail Hikes, Snow Shoeing, Sledding
