Volunteer Opportunities

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Description:

This summer from July 2nd to August 6th, Flood Brook School is becoming a drop-off point and pick-up location for the BRSU Summer Meals Program of 2025. The Collaborative is looking for volunteers during this time period every Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:30 to assist in food distribution.

Responsibilities:

• Sorting and packing, checking for food quality, expiration dates, and damage
• Assisting individuals and families
• Delivering meals to individuals who are unable to visit the pickup location
• Create a positive and welcoming environment

Qualifications:

• Must be over 18
• Must be able to lift 20lbs

EVENT HELP

Description:

The Collaborative is looking for volunteers to assist during community events and festivals.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of The Collaborative's mission, goals, and programs
• Assist in set up and tear down of events
• Create a positive and welcoming environment
• Handling equipment and managing materials such as brochures and handouts
• Assist during some of the following events: Harvest Festival, Resilience Through Understanding Kick Off, Maple Leaf Half Marathon, and more!

Qualifications:

• Must be able to commute to events
• All ages welcome!

SUMMER CAMP / EDP (Extended Day Program / Afterschool Program)

Description:

The Collaborative always welcomes volunteers for our Summer Camp program. All who have an interest in working with children are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Help children with all needs       
• Implement youth and family-supporting strategies, activities, and events
• Help camp staff with setup and cleanup
• Maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment
• Creating engaging crafts and activities

Qualifications:

• Experience with children (preferred)

MENTOR PROGRAM

Description:

The Collaborative is looking for mentors to join our Mentor Program for one hour per week during the school year.

Responsibilities:

• Support, guide, and be a friend to a young person
• Maintain a safe and secure environment
• Come up with activities or crafts for each session

Qualifications:

• Experience with children (preferred)
• Must be over 18
